apollo.

hey bud, it’s me.

nobody knows what dogs know or don’t know or can or cannot understand. so i’m going to write this down and read it out loud to you.

what i do know is that you and i have always had our own special language.

not apollo’s real name.

when we met at the shelter, i knew that you and i were going to share a lot together.

you knew i’d find you.

my “other” soul mate.

when i got cancer again and had to stay in the hospital, one of the things that helped me get through it was knowing i’d get to come home to hang out with you.

i knew you’d wait for me. and you did.

your love was unconditional, your touch was healing.

you helped make me whole again.

my buddy apollo.

when the doctor told us today that you had cancer, we both knew it was my turn.

i’m going to make however long we have together the best it can be.

my love will be unconditional, my touch will be healing. you have nothing to be afraid of.

but you already knew that, didn’t you?
